We had a break in the clouds and went for a short walk over to the Davidson River Campground (it's located across the road from where we are staying)...

Yes, the rain continues; Tropical storm Alberto is moving in. We have had twelve straight days of rain. We all have a bad case of cabin fever. Radar is showing a break in the rain. We decided to go for a walk along the North Slope Connector.
We walked past the swimming hole and the Davidson River Campground...
| kids were taking the opportunity to go for a swim |
to an old railroad bed. We continued down this trail...
| the trail was pretty muddy in places |
| the Davidson River continues to rise |
| the Davidson River was on one side of us |
| the mountain on the other side |
we continued walking...

North Slope trail head. North Slope is a four mile loop along a ridge line. it will take you back into the campground |
| you never know who you will run into on the trail |
the trail widened as the river flowed away from it...
| a nice place to backpack into and set up camp |
| the end of the trail brought us to this clearing |
Rain is in the air. We turned and headed back down the trail to home.
It was great to get out and stretch our legs. We made it back home shortly before the rain began.
