Hey, Hey The Gang's All Here! Our winter at Johnson Creek RV...

January 1 ~ March 31, 2015

Wow!  I can't believe that it's 2015 already!! Where does the time go??!!

We've had an interesting winter ~ total knee replacement surgery (Ron) and cataract (both eyes) surgery (Dawn).  But mostly, we just had FUN!

the Axis deer visited us every evening. view is out our dining window

Weather-wise it was interesting as well.  Cold, (not as cold as last year) and rainy.  Yes, rainy.  For which we're very grateful.  The Hill Country has been in a severe drought for the past seven years. All of this rain has certainly helped.  The water ban was lifted (we can now wash our rigs and vehicles on the property).  The fire ban was lifted as well.

Wherever we go, Cooper makes new friends.  JCRV is no exception.

Kirby is the red pig, Larry the black & white pig

Cooper and Kirby visited everyday.  As soon as Coop walked up to the fence he'd bark, and Kirby would come waddling over to the fence.  We don't have the heart to tell Coop that the piece of bacon he just ate may have come from Kirby!

Ron had his knee replacement done at Peterson Hospital in Kerrville on January 6.  Ninety days later he was on the golf course!

working the knee at therapy

nap time after therapy. prayer quilt is from
our home church in Brighton, MI. thanks
BFUMC!

who says therapy's not fun!

We're so grateful to our dear friends, Jack and Shirlene for all of the support and love they gave to the both of us.  A difficult time was made so much easier because of you both!!

love you both!

Most of our winter was spent hanging out, dining out, shopping and lots of day trips.  Day trips included a trip back to the Salt Lick (near Austin) with Jack and Shirlene.  Best BBQ around.  We also went to Bandera, Fredericksburg (more shopping), and Comfort.  Of course we had to dine at Guenthers in Comfort. I also made numerous trips to the Tinsmiths Wife in Comfort.  Lots of yarn!! Of course we made a couple of trips to Camping World in New Braunfels.

Alamo Springs. one of our favorite places. Mr. Ken is hiding next to Ron

Billie Jeans. another favorite place of ours

JCRV long-term guest appreciation lunch

We came across this display during one of our shopping trips to Belks...

can you imagine? neither Jack, Stan nor Ron would
wear it!!

Connie, Shirlene and I did some serious damage!!

In March I had cataract surgery on both eyes.  All I can say is WOW!! What a difference! Colors are brighter and deeper with more pigmentation. Whites are whiter. I thought I saw colors good prior to surgery...but Wow!!  I'm so glad I had this surgery!!

In between surgeries, shopping and dining out we hung out together.  Jack and Shirlene's as well as Al and Annette's became party central...

guys at one end

gals at the other

'bout sums up our winter!

And a great winter it was!!!

Til next time...

Dawn, Ron and of course, Cooper!
