H3=Ozarky

End of June,

H3=Ozarky!!  Hazy, HOT & HUMID!! That's the Ozarks in the summer!!  We're beginning to get used to the humidity ~ thick air seems to be the norm.  It's really not too bad once you get used to it.  Any rain that we do get only serves to raise the humidity.

Weather aside, this is still a different summer for us.  For the past five summers, we have spent either a part or all of (the last two summers) volunteering on the Spirit Lake Reservation Devil's Lake in North Dakota. When we weren't on the Rez, we were taking trips to Yellowstone, the desert southwest and the pacific northwest.  It feels odd not to be on the Rez and we miss our friends, Mike and Libby, the Gladewater, TX team and others.  We enjoyed our time on the Rez; however, it was time to do something different.  We're both happy and comfortable here in Branson and are glad that we made the change.  It's nice to be able to have so much free time to simply enjoy the summer...

hanging out at Table Rock State Park marina...

we saw someone using a flyboard on Table Rock Lake...too far
away to get a good pic, so this one taken in the marina store will
have to suffice...looks like fun!!!

para sailing over Table Rock Lake

No, that is not me para sailing.  Those of you who know me quite well know of my aversion to heights.  I would most likely die of a heart attack just waiting to soar into the sky!!!

There's always something going on around here.  A duck with a flat tire pulled into the parking lot of the Dewey Short today...

waiting for a replacement duck

off-loading

What else do you do on a hot day other than swim and get ice cream????

You just never know what or who you're going to see in and around Branson...

wood carving. simply magnificent. saw this at one of the
shops at Grand Village. Price tag of $22k

saw these two cute guys at the Imax...

ran into John, aka Johnny Angel, at the Ducks. we worked
with him last year...

we saw this near near one of the local Chinese restaurants...

looks like lots of fun putting this collage of junk together

We're enjoying relaxing and getting to know the other volunteers who are also working at the Dewey Short...

hanging out with Mack & Judy, our neighbors

Leilani & Walt with Katie and Dillon

And also reading and of course, knitting!!!

Lovin' this Connie!!

Saturday, June 21

Today is the summer solstice as well as the official first day of summer.  The weather is certainly summery ~ Ozarky, with temps of 93.  Tomorrow is our 29th wedding anniversary.  We are celebrating tonight by going to dinner at the Keeter Center at the College of the Ozarks, aka Hard Work U.  They are known for their fresh ingredients.  Much of the food that is served is grown by the students at the College.

Til next time,

Dawn, Ron & Coop
